It contains an active substance butamirate citrate that belongs to the group of synthetic antitussives with central action (a group of drugs for the treatment of cough), which does not cause addiction. Omnitus prevents and soothes an irritating cough. It is used before and after therapeutic and diagnostic procedures in the bronchi (when performing bronchoscopies), as well as before and after performing surgical interventions. It is used as an additional therapy for pertussis (whooping cough)
