Activated charcoal binds our gases (anti-fluent) very well in the gastrointestinal tract. It passes through the stomach without reducing the acidity of the stomach acid. Activated charcoal is not absorbed or metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract. It is excreted unchanged in the feces, which turns black. Carbo medicinalis is used for the accumulation of gas in the stomach and intestines (flatulence). The drug is not recommended for long-term gas treatment (more than 7 days). It is not recommended for patients who have been proven to be intolerant to certain sugars and for patients with diabetes. How to use Carbo medicinalis Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Unless otherwise prescribed, take 4-7 tablets of Carbo medicinalis 3-4 times a day after meals. Take the tablets dissolved in 200 ml of water or tea. When gas in the stomach and intestines (flatulence) can be taken, the drug can be taken for up to 7 days. If the condition does not improve, see a doctor. Use in children The use of activated charcoal is not recommended for children under 3 years of age.
