WHAT CANESTEN ® SOLUTION IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Clotrimazole is an imidazole derivative with antifungal action. Clotrimazole acts on fungi by inhibiting the production of ergosterol, which leads to structural and functional damage to the cytoplasmic membrane. Canesten ® solution is used to treat dermatomycoses (fungal infections of the skin) caused by dermatophytes, yeast fungi, mold and other fungi (fungal infections of the feet and the skin between the toes, fungal infections of the hands, fungal infections of the skin of the body and skin inguinal folds, pityriasis versicolor) and erythrasma.
