WHAT CANESTEN ® 1 VAGINAL TABLET IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Clotrimazole is an imidazole derivative with antifungal action. Clotrimazole acts on fungi by inhibiting the production of ergosterol, which leads to structural and functional damage to the cytoplasmic membrane.
Canesten ® 1 vaginal tablet is used to treat infections of the genital organs (vaginitis) caused by fungi (mostly CANDIDA) and superinfections with clotrimazole-sensitive bacteria.

Use: you should use the medicine as prescribed in the instructions (unless the doctor determines otherwise). If you are not sure, please consult your doctor or pharmacist. If you do not follow the instructions, the medicine will not work properly. To treat vaginal infections: Place 1 vaginal tablet at night as deeply as possible in the vagina, before going to bed. You will achieve this best if you lie on your back, with your legs slightly bent. Clotrimazole vaginal tablets need moisture to dissolve completely in the vagina, otherwise parts of the vaginal tablet may fall out of the vagina. To prevent this from happening, it is important to insert the pill as deep as possible into the vagina before going to bed. If the vaginal tablet does not dissolve completely overnight, it is recommended to use a vaginal cream. Fertility, pregnancy and breastfeeding: Before taking any medicine, consult a doctor or pharmacist. Like all medicines, Canesten 1 vaginal tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children! Avoid contact of the medicine with the eyes. Do not swallow the vaginal tablets. The medicine should be stored at a temperature of up to 25°C.
